INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION ACTIVITIES IN THE 2nd QUARTER OF 2009
In the 2nd quarter of 2009, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (HCMA) has greeted many international delegations visiting and working at the Academy:
Visiting delegations:
1. April, 19th, 2009, the Academy held a welcoming ceremony and a talk with experts group from Hatfield School (2 people) of the University of Portland, USA to discuss cooperation project implementation.
2. According to cooperation plans between Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 2009, the Academy has welcomed Chinese scientists delegation ( 2 people) coming to make a presentation about research topic in the conference: “ Theory of the communist party of China about three agriculture issue and views of scienctific development” held on April, 20th and 21th, 2009 at the Academy.
3. The Institute of Human rights received Mr. Charlie Jebb, the officer in charge of relationship with Vietnam of Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on April, 21th, 2009 to exchange information about Vietnam- Australia relationship.
4. April, 22th, 2009. Dr. Nguyen Duc Thuy, Director of Institute of Human rights had a talk with Mr. Christian Marchant, the American political officer, with a view to studying the Academy’s prime activities as well as make a discussion about the process of General evaluation of human rights records (named Geneva Process).
5. April 28th, 2009, the Academy received the expert of EU’s project management office, Mr. Dennis Schrey and shared experience about research methods of Grassroots democracy issues in Vietnam.
6. Also in April, 2009, the Academy received a official Austrian senate delegation (9 people) and held a talk to discuss possible cooperation between the Academy with Austrian Socialist Democracy Party.
7. On 2 days, May, 29th and 30th, 2009, the Institute of Politics held a conference on“Contemporary political development theory” along with expert delegation of University of Bremen, Federal Republic of Germany (4 people) at the Academy.
8. From June, 1st to 7th, 2009 the Academy worked with specialists delegation from Laotian Academy of Politics and Public Administration (10 people) to exchange experience in reforming organization and activities of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration (office) and experience in recovering from economic crisis of Vietnam temporarily and permanently.
9. From June, 2nd and 8th, 2009, the Academy received the official delegation of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (9 people). The purpose of the visit is to introduce and to exchange views of methodical development and experience in recovering from economic crisis of Vietnam temporarily and permanently.
10. On June, 11th, 2009, the Academy received formally Canadian ambassador, expert delegation from Canadian International Development (4 people) and held a conference about “Women in leadership and management” at the Academy.
Outcoming delegations:
1. The official delegation of the Academy led by Professor, Dr. Le Huu Nghia, HCMA’s president visited and worked in the Lao People's Democratic Republic on April, 7th, 2009 with a view to exchanging experience in building and implementing postgraduate course book as well as investigating demand for education, improvement in administration.
2. From June, 10th to 15th, 2009, delegation of the project “Building Laotian Academy of Politics and Public Administration in 2nd period” consisting of 4 people had a business in Laos to prepare for the project.
3. From May 4th to 31st, 2009, lecturer delegation of the Academy (9 people) came to Laos and taught Laotian postgraduate students Philosophy, Political Economy, Ho Chi Minh Ideology, Politics, Research Methods, Management Psychology.
4. From May 28th to June 4th, 2009, officer delegation of the project “Translating Marx- Engels, Lenin and Ho Chi Minh from Vietnamese into Laotian” including 2 people travelled on official business in Laos in order to prepare for evaluating and establishing the first episode of Marx- Engels, Lenin, Ho Chi Minh in Laotian.
5. Within the annual cooperation framework between Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration and the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, 7 officers of the Academy led by Professor and PhD Truong Thi Thong- Vice President visited and worked in China from June 14th to 20th, 2009 to improve cooperation relationship, discuss education and science research.
6. The delegation including 7 officers of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration led by Professor and PhD Tran Khac Viet- Director general of Personnel and Organization- officer of the Academy did the research on cooperation in staff training in Fudan University, and China Executive leadership Academy at Pudong (CELAP), Shanghai, China from June 24th to 30th, 2009.
